“I loved the Little Hands activity pack. It was a great relief to not have to come up with the activity ideas and just know that my child was doing something productive. I can’t wait to purchase my next pack for more fun activities!”

– Parent

“The activities are super clear and I knew exactly what to do, even with showing me what to say. I like that I could make the activity easier or harder depending on my child’s needs. I also liked the variations, so I could lean into my child’s interests.”

– Nanny

“I can always tell which children have had meaningful play coming into a school setting. These activities provide some great structure to build play, life skills and independence. I think they are wonderful.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Who are these activities designed for?

The activities are designed to be completed by pre-school children around ages 2-4 years old, but due to the variations could also be used by older children. We have deliberately not made each activity age specific, as children develop at their own pace in different areas. They are designed to guided by parents, nannies or other caregivers playing with your child or children.

What is included in each activity?

Each activity includes an image, things needed and a step-by-step guide of what to do. We also include variations to the activity and ways to make it easier and harder to meet the needs of your individual child. The equipment is predominantly items you already have around the house, although there may be a few items you may need to purchase if they’re not already in your toy rotation. Each pack has a full list of equipment needed for all the activities in the booklet, with some optional items and some suggestions of swaps eg. pom-poms or buttons.

How do I complete the activity?

We recommend setting up the activity either the night before or earlier in the day as an “invitation to play”. This allows your child to explore and be curious. When you are ready, introduce the activity, such as “Today we’re going to make a kindness box,” and follow the instructions on the card. Remember a child’s attention span is approximately their age plus 3 minutes (eg for a 2 year old 2+3 = 5 minutes) so let your child lead beyond this time. With this in mind, we also only recommend two activities a day, with the rest of your child’s playtime being child initiated play. Don’t worry if the outcome isn’t exactly what you expect or doesn’t match the picture – it’s wonderful to build creativity and lean into the learning – and you can always try again another day.

How do I access the activities?

Buy using the purchase link and download the toolkit. They are designed to be used on mobile phones so are easily accessible.

How does the membership differ from buying a toolkit?

Each toolkit has 15 activities based around one skill eg Chatty Child focuses on communication and language. The membership gives a mix of activities each week so you can work through a couple a day, jumping between different skills. No need to decide on activity, we tell you which to do each day of the week!
